Kunle Filani's exhibition at Quintessence

Kunle Filani's latest outing opens at Quintessence, today

An exhibition of works by Kunle Filani (PhD) opens today, Saturday, 23 October, 2010 at Quintessence, Falomo Shopping Centre in Ikoyi, Lagos. Filani is one of many distinguished citizens groomed at University of Ife (Obafemi Awolowo University) by, among others, Prof Agbo Folarin, who passed on last Thursday, 21 October.

Afolarin was Filani's sculpture lecturer in 1976 and 1977, when the latter was in his freshman and sophomore years.

Titled “Doctrine of necessity”, Filani’s latest presentation comprises 21 works; and, includes, surprisingly, five photographs.

The remaining 16 works are paintings, for which Filani, exponent of “Ona” Art; is famous, aside being a respected art historian and educator.

Doctrine of necessity is billed to close on 13 November, Filani, Rector, College of Education, Osiele in Ogun State told “mauricearchibongtravels”.
